FALL 2007 COURSE ROADMAP FOR MSIS STUDENTS
The MSIS degree requires 39 credits, which are broken down into: five required Leonard N. Stern School of Business (Stern) courses; five required Computer Science Department courses within The Graduate School of Arts and Science (GSAS); a capstone course and two free electives, from either the Computer Science Department or Stern.
Information Systems (Stern) Requirements
- Students are required to take two (6 credits total) General Business Core courses (B01 courses). Be sure to check the prerequisites before selecting a course. The following courses are recommended:
- Students are required to take three (9 credits total) Information Systems courses (B20 courses). Be sure to check the prerequisites before selecting a course. The following courses are recommended:
Students can take a maximum of 21 credits in Stern.
Computer Science Department (GSAS) Requirements
- Students are required to take G22.1170 Fundamental Algorithms.
- Students are required to take two of the three following courses:
- Students are required to take two (6 credits total) Computer Science electives.
- *G63.2041 Computing in Finance can be taken and counted as a CS elective.
Capstone Requirement
Additional Requirement
- Students are required to take two free electives (6 credits total) in either the Computer Science Department or Stern.
