Interests

  • I spent a lot of time studying Theoretical Computer Science.
  • Recently, I got interested in Computer Graphics and Visualization.

Projects

Algorithm Visualization
Richard Cole and I started to work on the visualization of algorithms last term. We are trying to use visualizations to explain the correctness of algorithms, and to explain the analysis of their complexity and runnning time in particular.

Currently, we're preparing interactive online lecture notes on selected algorithms to demonstrate our concept of educational visualization.

Related Work in our department:

Computational Biology
Currently, Bud Mishra and I are looking at some problems arising in DNA sequence analysis and verification. Also, Laxmi Parida and Thomas Ananatharaman working on computational biology in our department.

There has been some joint work on "optical mapping" with David Schwartz' research group in the chemistry department.
