Synopsis

Nothing special, right? Hamiltonian-Hopf bifurcation or the Krein
collision is a typical association. Nevertheless, practitioners in
engineering and physics think differently. They discuss why multiple
complex eigenvalues can be precursors of blackouts and why an
eigenvalue that drifted towards a positive growth rate with the
increase of the Reynolds number suddenly changes its trajectory and
dives back to the left part of the complex plane. Why double
coffee-filter makes the wine glass singing? How robust stability can
occur at the Swallowtail? This and more in my talk (with the answers).
