The Thursday afternoon reception will be
held at 5:00 p.m. at the Salmagundi Club. Cocktails and wine will be served, and there
will be a concert by the Urban Birds Trio, who specialize in Music of the Americas. The
trio is composed of saxophonist Cynthia Sikes, cellist Leo Grinhauz, and pianist Sonia
Rubinsky. Described by the alliterative Chicago Tribune as "sensational...soaring
with sinewy urgency and overwhelming expressive force", the Urban Birds Trio will
present a short program including American ragtime music and music by composers
