CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENT:

MAMLS @ Harvard: A meeting on the intersections of logic and mathematics

Science Center, Harvard University, May 9-10, 2009

We are pleased to announce MAMLS @ Harvard, a conference that will take
place at the Science Center, Harvard University, on the weekend of May 9
and 10, 2009.  The theme of the meeting is logic and its intersections
with other branches of mathematics.

PROGRAM: The complete program can be found on the conference website.
Special sessions will showcase the work of junior logicians in the
Boston area. On the afternoon of Saturday, May 9, there will be a
conversation and audience Q&A with Barry Mazur, Bjorn Poonen and Carol
Wood on logic and number theory. This will be followed by an informal
reception, to which all participants are invited.

REGISTRATION: The meeting is free and open to all. There is no formal
registration, but if you do plan to attend, please email Rehana Patel at
patel at math.harvard.edu.

SPONSORS: The NSF through the Mid-Atlantic Mathematical Logic Seminar
(MAMLS), Harvard University Mathematics Department.

SUPPORT: MAMLS reimburses all out-of-town student participants a flat
amount of $50 for expenses. This can be arranged at the meeting without
prior application. Additional support is available for students and
junior researchers coming from outside the Boston area. Please see
website for details.

ACCOMMODATION: A block of rooms has been reserved for participants at
the Sheraton Commander Hotel, a short walk from the Harvard Science
Center. The conference rate for rooms is $179 per night plus taxes.
Parking is available at a special rate of $15 per day. These rates are
guaranteed until May 1, 2009 (extended deadline), after which they will
