[FOM] message from the moderator: new procedures

Dear subscribers,

In recent months my task as moderator has become increasingly time 
consuming because of the large number of spam messages received along with 
the much smaller number of legitimate posts to FOM. For this reason, and 
with the advice of the editorial board, the following new procedure has 
been implemented:

Any message whose return address is not on the membership list will 
automatically be rejected by the "mailman" list-processing software. The 
sender will receive an error message indicating the problem and explaining 
how to deal with it.
