[FOM] about an objection to Quine's indispensability arguments

Dear all,
 
**Happy New Year 2004**
 
One objection against Quine's indispensability arguments for mathematical platonism is the following :
that some mathematical theories are sometimes either posterior or anterior to the physical theories they are really serving.
Is anybody of the list can help me to know if Quine's has answered to such an objection somewhere in his worK ?
