[FOM] Frege and logic

Thanks to Bill Ewald for his thoughtful
contribution.  I don't think I have any
quarrel with the points he makes, nor
do I deny that the idea of quantification
occurred more or less simultaneously to
a number of people.

The only point that I wanted to comment
on was the claim that Frege had very
little influence on the development of
modern logic.  This seems palpably false 
to me.

It is not the same question as to whether 
he created quantification theory ex nihilo.
It's a question of who he influenced, not
about who (if anybody) influenced him.
