(1) PHINEWS would like to ask a favor of its subscribers. We are currently 
updating our files, organizing the newsletter, considering minor editorial 
adjustments etc. and it would be very helpful if you as a PHINEWS 
subscriber would inform us of whether the newsletter in general is valuable 
to you, meets with your satisfaction, and possibly come with suggestions 
for improvement. You may simply send your opinion by replying to this mail.

(2) The conference "FOL75 - 75 Years of First-Order Logic" was held in 
Berlin, Germany from September 18-21, 2003. Pictures from the conference 
are available at

The proceedings will appear with Logos Verlag, Berlin early next year. The 
proceedings are edited by Vincent F. Hendricks, Fabian Neuhaus, Stig Andur 
Pedersen, Uwe Scheffler and Heinrich Wansing.

(3) The conference "The Logic of Time and Modality" was held in Roskilde, 
Denmark from October 31 - November 21. Pictures from the conference will 
soon be available at

The proceedings from the conference are forthcoming and will be edited by 
Torben Braüner, Per Hasle and Peter Øhrstrøm.

(4) The next conference under the PHILOG auspieces is "Trends in Logic - 50 
Years of Studia Logica", to be held at the Carlsberg Academy, Copenhagen, 
Denmark, November 20-22, 2003. The conference offers lectures by Johan van 
Benthem (The Netherlands), Wojciech Buszkowski (Poland), Leo Esakia 
(Georgia), Melvin Fitting (USA), Joseph M. Font (Spain), Robert Goldblatt 
(New Zealand), Daniele Mundici (Italy), Hiroakira Ono (Japan), Heinrich
