A message from "others" follows.

Where could this "unambiguity" of N be coming from?

1) From model-theoretic considerations? No, because any model theory is a
branch of (a weaker or stronger) set theory. Are set theories (which of
them?) more "unambiguous" than N?

2) From human practice? No, because, when confronted with the human
practice,

"...the natural number system contains not only some information about real
things..., it also contains many elements of fantasy. Why do you think that
such a fantastic "world" (a kind of Disneyland) should be completely
perfect?" (www.ltn.lv/~podnieks/gt1.html).

Could you imagine a source other than 1 and 2?

Best wishes,
