Could you post the following third announcement:
A one day conference in mathematical logic to celebrate Jim Schmerl's
60th birthday will be held on September 16th, 2000 (Saturday) at the
University of Connecticut at Storrs. The conference talks comprise a
special meeting of the NSF-supported CONNECTICUT LOGIC SEMINAR. The
scientific program consists of invited hour lectures by Angus
Macintyre and Hal Kierstead, and three shorter talks related to Jim's
work by Ali Enayat, Roman Kossak, and Eugene Spiegel; it will begin
early in the afternoon. Festivities include a dinner party Saturday
For those needing overnight accommodations, a block of rooms has been
reserved at the Best Western Regent Inn in Mansfield Center, CT, at a

Western Motel must be made in advance by calling Horizon Limousine

people pick participants up at the airport, to the extent
feasible. If you wish to be picked up, please send an e-mail message
to Manuel Lerman with your flight information (including expected
arrival time), and he will get back to you with information about
arrangements to travel to Storrs.
There will be a registration fee of $5 and the cost of dinner will be
$25 per person. Entrees are to be chosen in advance; the choices are
poached salmon or chicken chardonnay. Please submit your choices and
a check for the correct amount by August 18, 2000.
The conference is organized by Ali Enayat, Roman Kossak
