Could this be it?

  Paul J. Cohen and Reuben Hersh, Non-Cantorian Set Theory, Scientific
  American, volume 217, December 1967, pp. 104-116.

There is also some philosophical discussion near the end of Cohen's
monograph, Set Theory and the Continuum Hypothesis, Benjamin, 1966.
And there is Cohen's paper `Independence results in set theory', in
the Theory of Models volume, North-Holland, 1965, edited by
Addison-Henkin-Tarski, pp. 39-54.
