[coral-users] "Coralize URIs" comes to iPodder

That's really exciting.

One of the main reasons we haven't pushed off of PlanetLab yet are 
security concerns -- we know how to provide integrity (we actually wrote 
an Apache module here to do the appropriate server-side signatures), but 
vanilla browsers unfortunately don't support anything beyond SSL, which 
provides authentication, but not authenticity (integrity).  Thus, it 
doesn't help a client when downloading from an untrusted proxy.
Too bad shttp never caught on.

Perhaps it's time to consider speaking with some client-side software 
solutions (like iPodder) for the addition of such a end-to-end 
authentication check.

Although I should note that we're also developing a client-side tool for 
large-file transfer (that will be able to interface transparently with 
HTTP), modulo any centralized tracker like BitTorrent.
