SPEAKER: Kristiyan Haralambiev TITLE: Dual System Encryption and Recent IBE/HIBE Constructions AUTHORS: Waters '09 and Lweko & Waters '09 ABSTRACT: We study the dual system encryption concept, recently introduced by Waters, following the presentation of Lewko and Waters: Fully Secure HIBE with Short Ciphertexts ( http://eprint.iacr.org/2009/482 ). Their construction looks quite similar to the Boneh-Boyen IBE and Boneh-Boyen-Goh HIBE which were shown to be only selectively secure. The scheme works in composite order groups (of three primes) and is secure under three static assumptions analogously to the composite order group construction of Waters the techniques of which were adopted for the main result of Waters' Crypto'09 paper (http://eprint.iacr.org/2009/385 ). If time permits, we will discuss that result as well due to its security being shown under the well known DBDH and DLIN assumptions.
