About this Site

Mission Statement: To Provide a glimpse and understanding into NYU's traditions of today and the past in order to inspire school spirit.

About this site: This site was constructed as part of an assignment for a class in New York Universitiy's department of computer science, Computing in the Humanities. This is a primary resource archive of materials concerning three of NYU's student traditions; cane rush, the bun, and ducking for academic research and pleasure.

About the Creator: This site was created by Meg Weichman, Junior at NYU, out of her personal interest in some of the traditions at NYU that even as a student she knew little about. Through the making of this site, she has learned a great deal about NYU's spirited past and hopes that this site inspires students like her to reinvigorate the school spirit that once featured so prominently on campus.

About the Materials: All the materials were obtained through the NYU Archives with special thanks to Janet Bunde. While not all materials had complete records, like the names of photographers, what information could be obtained is noted with the item.
