New York Academy of Medicine (NYAM)
is an exciting organization that works to enhance the health of the
public. As their web site states: "The New York Academy of Medicine is
a non-profit institution founded in 1847 that is dedicated to enhancing
the health of the public through research, education and advocacy, with
a particular focus on urban populations, especially the disadvantaged."
Proposal: Select Grant Management and Accounting Software
NYAM applies for and manages hundreds of grants a year. Because
NYAM has grown rapidly in the last 5 years their administrative systems
have become inadequate. They want to obtain a grants management
system which will support the creation of applications and an
accounting system which will track moneys related to grants won.
They want a distributed system that can be accessed by 9 divisions and
the administrative departments. There are highly functional packages
for these purposes, but NYAM does not have the time to investigate the
